What We Believe

Our faith is built on the foundational truths of Scripture and a strong commitment to biblical doctrine. We invite you to explore our 12 core beliefs that guide our teaching, worship, and daily walk with Christ.

Our Core Values

Sound Biblical Preaching and Teaching

We believe that spiritual growth begins with a deep understanding of God’s Word. Through expository preaching and in-depth Bible teaching, we are committed to helping individuals rightly divide the Word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). Our goal is to cultivate a church body that not only hears the Word but lives by it—growing in grace and knowledge (2 Peter 3:18). We view Scripture as the ultimate authority in our lives, guiding every decision, belief, and practice.

Loving God, Loving Others

At the heart of the Christian life is love—the kind that flows first from our relationship with God and then extends to others. Jesus taught that all the commandments rest on these two principles (Matthew 22:36-40). At Tabernacle, we emphasize cultivating a sincere love for God that naturally results in compassion, empathy, and sacrificial care for those around us. Our ministries are shaped by this twofold command, encouraging believers to embody God’s love in their families, workplaces, and neighborhoods.

God-Honoring Worship

Worship is not just an event—it’s a lifestyle of reverence, celebration, and surrender to the Lord. Our worship gatherings are designed to create a space where individuals can encounter God through praise, music, prayer, and the preached Word (Psalm 29:2; Psalm 95:1–6). We encourage expressive, Spirit-led worship that reflects the joy, awe, and gratitude we feel for who God is and all He has done.

Biblical Family Values

We affirm that the family is the first institution established by God and remains foundational to a healthy society. At Tabernacle, we strive to support and equip families through biblical guidance, resources, and ministries tailored to every life stage. Whether it’s marriage, parenting, or generational relationships, we emphasize God’s design as laid out in Scripture (Genesis 2:21–24; Joshua 24:15; Ephesians 5:21–6:4), believing that strong families lead to a strong church and community.

Mission-Minded Discipleship

The Great Commission compels us to move beyond the church walls with purpose and passion. Discipleship at Tabernacle is not just about personal growth but also about multiplying that growth in others (Matthew 28:19–20). We are intentional about equipping every believer to be a witness—locally and globally—sharing the Gospel, making disciples, and being a light in a dark world (Acts 1:8). We believe every member is a missionary, and every life a potential story of redemption.

Community-Focused Ministry

Our church is deeply committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus in Lawrenceville and the greater Atlanta area. We believe that faith is best demonstrated through service—meeting practical needs, building relationships, and showing Christ's love in tangible ways (Acts 2:45). From food drives and mentorship programs to neighborhood outreach and care initiatives, we seek to make a visible impact that reflects the heart of Jesus for every individual.

A Prayer-Centered Body of Believers

Prayer is not just a spiritual discipline—it’s our lifeline to God. At Tabernacle, we aim to be a church that prays without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), believing in the power of intercession, thanksgiving, and petition (1 Timothy 2:8; James 5:16). We incorporate prayer into every area of ministry, encouraging both corporate and personal devotion. Through prayer, we align our hearts with God's will and experience His peace, provision, and power.
